COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that The Ohio Department of Development (DOD) awarded $2.5M to Youngstown in Workforce Housing Grants. This grant will be used to fund 220 infill housing units and improve roads, sidewalks, and lighting around the units as well. This opportunity comes from the Residential Economic Development District (REDD) program.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office was awarded $297,500 in Violent Crime Reduction Grant. This grant can go towards investigative overtime costs, new technology to support crime reduction, targeted patrols in high-crime areas, and other initiatives.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Ohio EPA awarded $44K to McCartney Mobile Home Park (MHP).  This is an emergency generator grant, which is meant to help maintain water service and protect water supply during power outages. The grants will reimburse systems for the initial costs of generators and necessary accessories. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that The Ohio Department of Development (DOD) awarded $42,755 to Catholic Charities Housing Opportunities. The DOD hopes that housing assistance grants will help nonprofits with work on essential home repairs, renovations toward handicap accessibility, up to $5K per home in down-payment assistance and $500 for homebuyer education per household. Catholic Charities Housing Opportunities will be using this opportunity to provide down payment assistance and housing counseling to seven households.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) Friday announced that she was chosen as the Ohio Healthy Homes Network (OHHN) Legislator of the Year. This award was presented to Rep. McNally at OHHN’s annual conference in Gahanna, Ohio. The conference united public health officials, community leaders, property owners, and health professionals in the fight against lead poisoning.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board released over $730,186.07 to Youngstown State University (YSU) for two projects. One is for workforce training technology and the other is for tangible improvements to the university’s buildings.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Controlling Board released funds for The Rural Health Transformation Program. The program will be appropriated $202M each fiscal year and will fund 11 rural health opportunities. These include: the rural health workforce pipeline, Healthier Ohio initiatives, rural Ohio emergency care, OhioSEE rural expansion, pharmacy electronic medical records access, Ohio rural health innovation hubs, rural hospital training/ technical assistance center, rural health equipment, rural maternal health, rural health program implementation and the Ohio rural school based health centers. The goal of this program is to enhance healthcare access, quality and outcomes in rural communities in Ohio and nationwide.
