COLUMBUS – State Rep. Karen Brownlee (D-Symmes Twp) remains steadfast in her opposition to override a school district property tax levy restriction provision vetoed in House Bill 96 (the state operating budget). Line-item 66 would eliminate several types of levies, limiting the choices voters have in how to support their schools and local governments, and would not provide real property tax relief to Ohioans. Real property tax relief is one of the most pressing needs for everyday Ohioans. House Democrats are ready and willing to work together to get that done.

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Karen Brownlee (D-Symmes Twp) today denounced the recent politically motivated assassinations of former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, who were fatally shot in their homes on Saturday, June 14th. Another attempted attack also critically injured Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, at their residence. Today, Cincinnati Congressman Greg Landsman announced his name was found as part of evidence collected by the FBI during the search for the suspect in Minnesota accused of murdering and seriously injuring the lawmakers.

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Karen Brownlee (D-Symmes Twp) Wednesday voted against concurrence with the Ohio Senate’s version of the state operating budget, House Bill (HB) 96. House Democrats remain deeply concerned about the budget’s failure to fully fund public education, healthcare, childcare, and property tax relief.

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Karen Brownlee (D-Symmes Twp) last week announced that the Department of Development has approved $50K in grants to the City of Springdale to help the community modernize zoning regulations and pave the way for new housing developments. This funding comes from the new Housing Technical Assistance Program, which provides grant funding to support local governments in their efforts to upgrade zoning codes and processes in their communities.
