Rep. Tims Condemns Suggested End of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians

COLUMBUS — Asst. Minority Whip Desiree Tims (D-Dayton) today condemned the Trump administration’s goal of ending the temporary protected status for Haitians living in the United States. Although the deportations have been temporarily blocked by a federal judge, the legal status of Springfield’s 15K Haitians remains unstable as the community braces for a potential ICE raid.

Reps. Tims, Robinson to Provide Sponsor Testimony for School Busing Improvement Act this Week

COLUMBUS — Assistant Minority Whip Desiree Tims (D-Dayton) and Assistant Minority Leader Phil Robinson (D-Solon) recently introduced House Bill (HB) 545, the School Busing Improvement Act, to ensure public school students are prioritized in school busing. HB 545 is assigned to the House Education Committee and will receive its first hearing on Wednesday, February 4th at 9:45 am where Rep. Tims and Rep. Robinson will provide sponsor testimony.
