COLUMBUS — State Rep. Derrick Hall (D-Akron) Monday announced the Ohio Controlling Board approved two items under the Department of Development’s Ohio Housing Trust Fund for a combined $22M to combat homelessness in Ohio.

“This is a crucial step towards more secure and affordable housing in Ohio. While there is still much work to be done, I believe that supporting our most vulnerable community members with these programs should be a priority,” said Rep. Hall.

The items approved Monday were:

Item #35: $8M awarded to the Supportive Housing Program, a program that provides opportunity for stable, long-term housing for people who are homeless through supportive housing operations.
Item #36: $14M awarded to the Homeless Crisis Response Program, a program established to better meet the needs of Ohio’s homeless persons.
