COLUMBUS — State Rep. Christine Cockley (D-Columbus) this week continues to focus on addressing housing and homelessness in Ohio. Rep. Cockley remains focused on advancing solutions that address the housing crisis in Ohio and support people experiencing homelessness, housing advocates, and other stakeholders.

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Derrick Hall (D-Akron) today responded to an Ohio Supreme Court ruling that states that submetering companies are public utilities under state law and therefore are subject to regulation by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO). This ruling contradicts House Bill (HB) 173, a bill recently passed by the Ohio House that aims to exempt certain submetering businesses from regulation as a public utility by PUCO.

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Derrick Hall (D-Akron) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved one item under the Department of Natural Resources’ Clean Ohio Trail Fund for a combined $500K to build the Akron-Peninsula Road Multi-Use Trail and improve outdoor recreational opportunities for locals.

Dedicated on September 8th, 1825, the Tallmadge Church represents the rich history of the city of Tallmadge. COLUMBUS — State Rep. Derrick Hall (D-Akron) Monday announced the Ohio Controlling Board approved two items under the Department of Development’s Ohio Housing Trust Fund for a combined $22M to combat homelessness in Ohio.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Derrick Hall (D-Akron) Monday voted “NO” on the vote to override a school district property tax levy restriction provision vetoed in House Bill 96 (the state operating budget). Line-item 66 would eliminate several types of levies, limiting the choices voters have in how to support their schools and local governments, and would not provide real property tax relief to Ohioans.

Derrick Hall  (D-Akron) today voted “NO” on House Bill (HB) 96, the Republican-crafted state operating budget, citing cruel and chaotic cuts and its abject failure to invest in children, public education, healthcare, and basic services – all while shoveling billions to the wealthy and well-connected. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Derrick Hall (D-Akron) Wednesday voted “NO” on the Republican state operating budget, House Bill (HB) 96, because it arbitrarily and recklessly slashes critical state funding areas while failing to benefit everyday Ohioans. Rather than provide real and meaningful support to Ohio’s citizens, House Republicans chose to dismantle the constitutional and bipartisan fair school funding formula and dump more taxpayer money into vouchers for charter non-public and private schools that benefit the wealthiest Ohioans.
