COLUMBUS — State Rep. Anita Somani (D-Dublin) today honored the 52nd anniversary of the historic Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court decision. Since that day in 1973, the reproductive rights movement has been under attack by those who seek to control decisions that a person makes about their own health. Unfortunately, these attacks were successful in overturning this decision on the federal level in 2022.

Anita Somani (D-Dublin) joined Governor Mike DeWine Wednesday as he signed House Bill (HB) 173 into law, officially recognizing October as Hindu Heritage Month in the state of Ohio. Originally introduced as HB 72 alongside joint sponsor Rep. Mathews (R-Lebanon), this legislation was added to Rep. Troy’s HB 173 during December’s lame duck session.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Anita Somani (D-Dublin) today condemned the passage of House Bill (HB) 8, Ohio’s version of the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill. The law passed 57-31 late Wednesday night, requires public schools to notify parents about any matters concerning a student’s mental health, emotional well-being, or requests related to their gender identity.
