COLUMBUS — State Rep. Anita Somani (D-Dublin) joined many Ohio House Democrats this week to announce they are co-sponsoring a House resolution expressing the support of the Issue 1 citizen-led ballot initiative to end partisan gerrymandering in Ohio.

“For too long, partisan gerrymandering has created a Statehouse that does not reflect the will of the voters. Ohio is one of the most gerrymandered states in the nation; this is unacceptable. Issue 1 will take politicians out of the redistricting process, ” said Rep. Somani.

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Anita Somani (D-Dublin) today commends Mayor Andrew Ginther of Columbus for signing the recent Ohio Mayor's Alliance’s letter to Governor Mike DeWine calling for solutions to gun violence and youth access to firearms. Mayor Ginther joined a coalition of mayors from Ohio’s 31 largest cities to voice their concerns with the ongoing gun violence epidemic harming Ohio’s citizens.

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Anita Somani (D-Dublin) today announced that the Controlling Board has approved $1.2M under the Department of Children & Youth with the aim of combating infant mortality. The funds will be used in partnership with the non-profit organization Cribs for Kids which will provide eligible parents education on the importance of and how to practice safe sleep with their infant. Cribs for Kids will also furnish parents a product to allow them to put their baby to sleep safely and to assist with practicing safe sleep.
