COLUMBUS–Ohio Redistricting Commission member and House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) issued a statement today after Republican Commission members voted to pass partisan state legislative maps that fail to comply with the Constitutional and Court requirement that maps must reflect the statewide preferences of Ohio voters who voted 54% Republican and 46% Democratic over the last ten years. If approved by the Supreme Court, the maps will last for only four years.

COLUMBUS–Ohio Redistricting Commission member and House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today reiterated the importance of following the Constitution and the Court’s decision by drawing fair state legislative maps that reflect the statewide preferences of Ohio voters who voted 54% Republican and 46% Democratic over the last ten years.

COLUMBUS— State Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick), parliamentarian of the Ohio House Democratic Caucus, today announced the caucus is requesting letters of interest from individuals seeking appointment to Ohio’s 11th House District seat, which is currently vacant following the departure of State Rep. Stephanie D. Howse (D-Cleveland), who was elected to the Cleveland City Council in November.

COLUMBUS—Today, Ohio House Minority Leader Emilia Strong-Sykes (D-Akron), on behalf of House Democrats, sent a letter to Gov. Mike DeWine urging him to veto Senate Bill (SB) 157, the latest Republican anti-abortion bill. Opponents say SB 157 would put patients in danger by interfering with the ability for doctors and patients to make appropriate and life-saving medical decisions if faced with a medical crisis during pregnancy.
