State Rep. Brennan called this week's passage of the $13.5 billion Ohio Transportation Budget (HB 23) by the House of Representatives an intricate plan for the future that will create jobs and help grow Ohio’s economy. It passed with unanimous Democratic Caucus support. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Brennan (D-Parma) today announced that the state of Ohio is increasing its funding of annual peace officer continuing professional training (CPT) from 50% to 100% retroactive to January 1, 2023. Over the past two years, this program was operating on a pilot program basis, with a 50% salary reimbursement rate from the state for officers’ time spent in training up to 40 hours.  

State Reps. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) and Sean Brennan (D-Parma) today announced their plan to introduce a bill to fully repeal and refund subsidies being paid by Ohioans to bail out two Ohio Valley Electric Corp. (OVEC) coal-fired power plants—one of which is located in Indiana. The subsidies were established in HB 6 during the 133rd General Assembly.

This measure would exempt gun safety devices from taxation.
