COLUMBUS – On Wednesday, March 23, State Representatives Marilyn John (R-Richland County) and Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula) passed Substitute House Bill 509 out of the Ohio House of Representatives. 

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Lake Erie Commission is now requesting proposals for the Lake Erie Protection Fund grants for projects in the Ohio Lake Erie watershed.

COLUMBUS – State Representative Sarah Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula) announced her support of House Bill 166 that passed out of the Ohio House last week with a vote of 89-0. The legislation is better known as the Reagan Tokes Act. 

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Today, State Representative Sarah Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula) and State Representative Ron Ferguson (R- Jefferson, Monroe and Belmont) filed House Bill 563 to protect the rights of Ohioans to use their property as a short-term rental (STR). The bill seeks to eliminate the development of regulations that would place outright bans on STRs and limit the duration of use, it does not prohibit the ability of municipalities to regulate STRs, it only ensures that STRs be subjected to the same regulations as long-term rentals and that those regulations address public safety or nuisance issues.

COLUMBUS – State Representative Sarah Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula) announced the state controlling board has approved the release of funding to Ashtabula County as a part of the NatureWorks project. 

COLUMBUS – State Representative Sarah Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula) announced her support of Senate Bill 157 that passed out of the Ohio House today. The legislation is the Born Alive Protection Act, which helps to protect the lives of a child who is born alive after a botched abortion. 

COLUMBUS – The Ohio House of Representatives voted in favor of a pair of second amendment bills Wednesday, House Bill 99 and House Bill 227. State Representative Sarah Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula) showed her support for each of the bills. 

COLUMBUS – State Representative Sarah Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula) gave sponsor testimony yesterday on House Bill 403 in Primary and Secondary Education Committee. This legislation will add a teacher or school employee who retires while under threat of disciplinary investigation or threat of termination to the list of mandatory reports to the Ohio Department of Education (ODE).
