COLUMBUS – State Reps Michele Grim (D-Toledo), Karen Brownlee (D- Symmes Twp), and Cecil Thomas (D- Cincinnati) today issued the following statements in reaction to the mass shooting that occurred on Saturday at the Old West End Festival in Toledo:

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) and Melanie Miller (R-Ashland) yesterday introduced the Ohio Safe Homes Act, House Bill (HB) 855. This legislation would allow a tenant to terminate a rental agreement or request a change of locks at the tenant’s expense, if the tenant is a victim of rape, attempted rape, domestic rape, dating violence, abuse, or a sexually oriented offense.

COLUMBUS– State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) yesterday was honored to receive the Voice for Change Award from the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence.

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) issued the following statement on House Bill (HB) 347, legislation requiring a 24-hours waiting period for patients accessing reproductive care:

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) yesterday announced that the Controlling Board approved $14.75M in funding for the Resident Services Coordinator Program, the Housing Development Assistance Program, and the Housing Assistance Grant Program, under the Ohio Housing Trust Fund.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) and Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today introduced two new bills that focus on pet stores and pet financing. Together, these bills are trying to end bad practices that are prevalent in pet stores across Ohio, specifically prohibiting loans to purchase and restoring local governmental authority to regulate the sale of dogs.   

COLUMBUS– State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today announced the Ohio House’s passage of House Bill (HB) 148, which would authorize the Ohio Pet Fund as an option for individuals to contribute a portion, or all, of their Ohio income tax refund.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) and Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today introduced two new bills focused on protecting children in the entertainment industry: the Child Performer Protection Act and the Kid Influencer Protection Act. Both of these bills are meant to protect children in the entertainment industry, by making sure they have the support they need and are being compensated for their time and labor.

Tristan Rader (D-Lakewood) and Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today announced the reintroduction of the Ohio Health Care Plan, landmark legislation that would establish a single-payer, universal health care system to guarantee comprehensive medical, dental, and vision services for every Ohioan—regardless of income, employment, or health status.
