COLUMBUS – State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today is honored to receive the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) Legislator Award

“As a lifelong advocate for survivors, I am honored to receive the RAINN Legislator Award. It is a privilege to serve in the Ohio House, where I have the opportunity to fight every day for policies that support survivors and strengthen their rights. Every Ohioan deserves the chance to live with dignity, safety, and strength, and I will continue working to make that a reality,” said Rep. Grim

RAINN provided the following statement:

State Rep. Michele Grim has been honored with RAINN's Legislator Award in recognition of her steadfast advocacy for survivors of sexual violence in Ohio. Rep. Grim championed the bipartisan Ohio Safe Homes Act (HB 855), co-sponsored with Rep. Melanie Miller, which gives survivors of rape, dating violence, and sexually oriented offenses the right to break a lease or change their locks so they can safely leave a harmful home. Her commitment to survivors is unwavering, and her fight for their rights to recovery and justice is unyielding. Rep. Grim's work reflects exactly the kind of leadership this award celebrates: turning survivors' needs into practical, lifesaving policy.”
