COLUMBUS - State Reps. Mark Sigrist (D-Grove City) and Mike Odioso (R-Green Township) today introduced House Bill (HB) 714, bipartisan legislation aimed at strengthening pedestrian protections, clarifying driver responsibilities, and reinforcing penalties for serious vehicular offenses.

COLUMBUS — The Ohio House Democratic Caucus today held a press conference discussing a legislative package of eight bills and resolutions aimed at protecting Ohio families, safeguarding due process, and ensuring accountability related to recent federal immigration enforcement activity impacting communities across the state. 

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) and Mark Sigrist (D-Grove City) today introduced a bill to reform the nomination process for commissioners on the Public Utilities Commission (PUCO). Among other changes, the bill would require one of the governor’s appointments to be nominated by the Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel, an independent statewide entity representing residential utility customers.  This follows the House Bill (HB) 6 scandal, a $60 million dark money bribery scheme that federal authorities later described as “one of the largest public corruption conspiracies in Ohio history.”

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Christine Cockley (D-Columbus), State Rep. Mark Sigrist (D-Grove City), and State Sen. Bill DeMora (D-Columbus) today sent a letter to Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (ODRC) Director Annette Chambers-Smith urging the department to take immediate steps to ensure humane, safe, and lawful conditions for individuals detained at the Butler County Jail, which is currently being used to house Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees.
