Rep. Brewer Mourns Accidental Shooting of Thirteen-Year-Old Cleveland Child

COLUMBUS- State Rep. Brewer (D-Cleveland) today released a statement following the accidental shooting of a thirteen-year-old child from Cleveland: 

“I am heartbroken to hear about the loss of another young life over the weekend in District 18. My heart and prayers are with the family as they grieve the loss of Brandon Cleveland. This tragic event could have been prevented by common-sense legislation,” said Rep. Brewer. “I have introduced HB 175, HB 186, and HB 218 to stop a tragedy like this from happening in Ohio, as well as Cuyahoga County, and I will continue to use my role as representative for Ohio House District 18 to promote and use my voice to promote legislation to keep children safe. By promoting safe gun storage- ensuring guns are locked, unloaded, and separated from ammunition, we can prevent deaths like this in the future. This tragedy shows the need for legislation to make firearms storage safer, especially for children.”
