Annual Department of Education and Workforce Report Card for District 22 Announced by Rep. Brewer
COLUMBUS - State Rep. Darnell T. Brewer (D-Cleveland) today announced that the Department of Education and Workforce (DEW) has released 2024-2025 School Report Card data. Report cards are designed to give parents, communities, educators, and policymakers information about the performance of districts and schools — to celebrate achievement and success as well as identify areas for improvement.
“I applaud the school districts in District 22 on their growth and overall improvement despite being underfunded at the state level. The public schools in District 22 all scored at least 3 stars on the progress component, meaning our administration, teachers, and staff are continuing to improve the education and lives of our children,” said Rep. Brewer.
The Ohio General Assembly amended Ohio’s accountability law in the summer of 2021. Starting in 2022, schools began using a 1–5 star rating system. In addition to an overall rating, starting this year, schools will receive a rating in six categories instead of 5 which include achievement, progress, early literacy, gap closing, graduation and College, Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness.
For the first time, the College, Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness (CCWMR) component will be rated. The CCWMR component is intended to measure how prepared the graduating class from a district or building is as they transition to post-secondary education, enter the workforce, or join the armed forces.
