Rep. Troy provides sponsor testimony on bill to protect older Ohioans from abuse

COLUMBUS— State Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick), working across the aisle in a joint effort with Rep. Bill Seitz (R-Cincinnati), provided sponsor testimony Tuesday before the House Criminal Justice Committee on HB 419, which aims to protect vulnerable older Ohioans from the increasing prevalence of abuse, neglect and exploitation by closing a loophole within Ohio's mandatory elder abuse reporting laws.

Rep. Troy announces $224.7 million for energy assistance, unemployment, and other support for Ohio's families and seniors

Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) announced today that the state Controlling Board approved several items of note this week, including the allocation of $202 million from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) for the Home Energy Assistance Weatherization Program, helping Ohio's low to moderate-income families and seniors with their energy bills.

Rep. Troy awarded "Legislator of the Year" by prominent senior citizen advocacy group

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) has been recognized as Legislator of the Year by the Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging (o4a). The association acknowledged and thanked Rep. Reps. Troy and Seitz introduce bill to protect seniors by improving mandatory abuse reporting laws

COLUMBUS — Reps. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) and Bill Seitz (R-Cincinnati) today introduced bipartisan legislation protecting Ohio's growing senior population from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The bill improves current elder abuse reporting laws by establishing a mechanism for levying and enforcing penalties upon those who knowingly fail to report instances of abuse, neglect, and exploitation against senior citizens.
