State Representative Richardson Highlights Union County Open House
State Representative Tracy Richardson (R-Marysville) is highlighting an upcoming open house event in Union County, providing an opportunity for individuals in the community to provide public comment on the proposed 765-kV transmission project.
“Last week, I met with representatives from Grid Growth Ventures to learn more about their project, which is planned to impact parts of my district,” said Richardson. "My number one assertion in the conversation was to ensure that my residents were fully notified of the project and that individuals have the opportunity to express their thoughts, concerns, and objections. I plan to attend and hope many will visit the open house to get details about the project and have their voices heard.”

Representative Richardson would also like to highlight the core criteria that the Ohio Power Siting Board uses when evaluating projects such as the proposed 765-kV transmission project:
- For electric transmission and gas pipelines, the basis of need.
- The nature of the probable environmental impact.
- Whether the facility represents the minimum adverse environmental impact.
- That the facility is consistent with regional plans for expansion of the electric power grid serving.
- That the facility will comply with air and water pollution and solid waste disposal laws as well as air navigation rules and standards.
- That the facility will serve the public interest, convenience, and necessity.
- The facility’s impact on the continued agricultural viability of land in an existing agricultural district.
- That the facility incorporates maximum feasible water conservation practices.
