Richardson Highlights Funds for Faith-Based Programs at Ohio Reformatory for Women
COLUMBUS –State Representative Tracy Richardson (R-Marysville) announced the release of more than $300,000 for correctional facilities, including Ohio Reformatory for Women located in Marysville, for faith-based residential programming services.
The funds will be split with the London Correctional Institution to continue their faith-based character improvement programming. The money for the program was allocated to the correctional facilities from the General Revenue Fund under Institutional Operations.
“We have a responsibility to do our best to ensure safety for the public. Providing resources and faith-based programming services to the incarcerated population will help to reduce the chance of turning back to a life of crime once they have been released. We want individuals who have committed crimes and served their time to return to our communities, never to violate the law again.” said Richardson.
These programs address cognitive, behavioral, social, vocational and other skills necessary to successfully reintegrate incarcerated individuals into the community.
