State Rep. Phil Robinson (D-Solon) today announced a town hall meeting on September 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Walton Hills Event Center to discuss the state budget, bipartisan priorities, other legislative updates and a number of recent Democratic-led wins for working people and families in House district 6.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) and Jamie Callender (R-Concord) introduced legislation to address a critical shortcoming in Ohio’s Medigap insurance market for patients suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or end stage renal disease (ESRD). House Bill (HB) 400 aims to expand access to Medigap plans to all patients, regardless of age, who have been diagnosed with either ALS or ESRD and are eligible for Medicare Part B coverage. 

State Rep. Phil Robinson (D-Solon), with joint sponsor Rep. Adam Miller (D-Columbus), yesterday introduced House Bill (HB) 317, titled the “Protect Law Enforcement Act,” or PLEA—legislation that would require all firearms transactions to be processed by the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), closing the current loopholes in law that allow many guns sales to occur without a background check.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) and Rep. Thomas F. Patton (R-Strongsville) announced the unanimous passage of House Bill (HB) 229, the “Brenna Brossard SUDEP Awareness Act” by a vote of 91-0. The bipartisan bill would raise awareness of SUDEP, or Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy, among patients diagnosed with epilepsy by ensuring that they receive the relevant health information & resources from their healthcare provider.

State Rep. Phil Robinson (D-Solon) today announced town hall meetings on August 13 at the Solon Community Center, August 14 at the Lyndhurst Community Center, August 20 at the Chagrin Falls Library Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Libraries, and August 22 at the Brecksville Community Center. Minority Leader Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) will also be appearing and speaking at the Solon Town Hall on August 13.

State Rep. Phil Robinson (D-Solon) today issued a statement in response to the mass shooting in Dayton, OH, which occurred this past weekend:

“My sincere condolences to the victims’ family members of the mass shootings in both Dayton and El Paso. These tragedies way heavy on my heart. I also want to thank local police and law enforcement for their service in doing what they could to save as many lives as possible. No one can do the difficult job our police do when it comes to dealing with an active shooter situation,” said Rep. Robinson. “As we all grieve for the deceased and hope the wounded make quick physical and emotional recoveries, I hope in the coming weeks that the House, Senate and Gov. DeWine take legislative action in trying to prevent future tragedies. I know I will be doing my part.”
