Representative Johnson Applauds Launch of Child Care Cred Program
COLUMBUS—State Representative Mark Johnson (R-Chillicothe) is pleased to announce the official launch of the Child Care Cred Program, which works to improve access to affordable child care and strengthen Ohio’s workforce.
The program, championed by Johnson, was created under the soon-to-be enacted state budget for fiscal years 2026-27 and received a $10 million investment from the state.
“I am proud to be one of the many partners who collaborated on advancing this important initiative through House Bill 2 and the Budget,” said Johnson. “The rising cost of childcare has placed a heavy burden on Ohio families, and while much work remains, this is an opportunity to build stronger partnerships between families and businesses.”
To qualify, families must live in Ohio and employers must be Ohio-based. Applications will remain open until May 1, 2026.
