Representative Hiner Announces Funding for Warsaw Water Line Expansion
State Representative Mark Hiner (R-Howard) is proud to announce that the recently passed state budget includes $500,000 to expand water lines from the City of Coshocton to the Village of Warsaw. This investment, combined with support from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, state grants and loans, and strong local collaboration, will ensure safe, reliable water for residents and students while supporting future growth along the US-36 corridor.
“The extension of Coshocton’s water system to Warsaw will have a lasting impact on families, students, and businesses in the area,” said Representative Hiner. “This project ensures that our neighbors in Warsaw have access to safe drinking water and positions the region for future development.”
Warsaw’s water treatment system has served the community for decades, but aging infrastructure and updated standards created the need for an upgrade. The project includes over 44,000 feet of new waterline to be installed and a water storage tank to serve River View Schools, strengthening the area’s water infrastructure and preparing it for future growth.
“This is a great example of state and local partners working together to invest in our communities,” Hiner added. “It’s about building for the future and ensuring essential services for everyone.”
Mayors from the area issued statements in support of the project.
“We are just faced with the fact that we cannot afford to replace the current water plant and infrastructure,” said Warsaw Mayor Ed Kent. “I am hopeful any construction issues will be minimal and this will be a smooth transition. I appreciate the City of Coshocton and their ability to become a regional water supplier.”
"We appreciate our state and federal partners assisting us with this project to help our neighbors to the west in Warsaw allowing them to not only have safe, reliable water sources while allowing for future growth of our area along the US36 corridor,” said Coshocton Mayor Mark Mills.
