Rep. Brownlee's Bill Honoring Hamilton County Patrolman Passes the Ohio House of Representatives

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Karen Brownlee (D-Symmes Twp) today announced House Bill (HB) 432, legislation designating the portion of east Kemper Road in Hamilton County between Tri-County Parkway and Lebanon Road as the “Patrolman Earl W. Casterline Memorial Highway,” has passed the Ohio House of Representatives.
“Preserving the legacy of Patrolman Casterline, who gave his life in the line of duty, is a great tribute to his service in protecting Hamilton County communities,” said Rep. Brownlee. “I appreciate the partnership of his daughter, Lynne, and look forward to advancing this effort in the Senate.”
Patrolman Casterline’s vehicle was struck by a train in October 1953 while in pursuit of a fleeing suspect. At the time of the incident, the railroad track was unmarked and obscured by trees and shrubs. Patrolman Casterline lost his life just before his 26th birthday.
HB 432 will now head to the Senate for consideration.
