COLUMBUS — State Rep. Karen Brownlee (D-Symmes Twp) today voted ‘yes’ on House Bill (HB) 186 and House Bill (HB) 335, two pieces of legislation which aim to relieve the property tax burden currently faced by Ohio’s homeowners.
“HB 186 and HB 335 are necessary first steps in fixing the state property tax formula, but more needs to be done,” said Rep. Brownlee. “The Ohio state legislature must take responsibility for property tax reform that is real, lasting, and fair. I urge our body to work together to stop putting the burden of local funding solely on the backs of Ohio homeowners.”
HB 186 and HB 335 tie unvoted property taxes to the rate of inflation. Both bills will now head to the Senate for consideration.
