Rep. Brownlee Announces $2.91M for District 28 in FY27-28 Capital Budget

COLUMBUS – Rep. Karen Brownlee (D-Symmes Twp) today announced the passage of Senate Bill (SB) 450, the state's biennial capital appropriations budget. The bill allocates nearly $4B for the maintenance, renovation, and construction of state-owned infrastructure, including universities, school districts, and other community projects.
The capital budget is the mechanism by which the state funds its brick-and-mortar needs. This ranges from the construction and renovation of public works programs like schools and health centers, as well as local community projects. It includes funding for projects that expand access to healthcare, strengthen local economies, preserve cultural institutions, improve public infrastructure, and enhance quality of life for residents across the region.
“The state-local partnership we have fostered in District 28 is a strong one,” said Rep. Brownlee. “I look forward to building and reinforcing state investment to update infrastructure and support healthy communities.”
Rep. Brownlee helped to secure $2,910,000 in funding for a number of community projects in District 28, including:
- $750k for the Sharon Woods Harbor Revitalization Project in Sharonville
- $500k for People Working Cooperatively’s new headquarters in Sharonville
- $350k for parking lot renovations at Summit Park in Blue Ash
- $250k for improvements to Gower Park in Sharonville
- $150k for accessible basketball/tennis court renovations in Springdale
- $150k for Promenade Park upgrades in Montgomery
- $100k for new recreational equipment at Chamberlin Park in Deer Park
Additionally, Rep. Brownlee advocated for over $22,000,000 in funding for a number of projects of significance in Hamilton County.
SB 450 now moves to the Governor’s desk.
