COLUMBUS – State Reps. Eric Synenberg (D-Beachwood) and Tristan Rader (D-Lakewood) this week sent a letter to Governor Mike DeWine urging him to rescind his order to deploy Ohio National Guard troops to Washington, D.C.

“The Ohio National Guard is here to safeguard our state and support the nation in times of domestic crisis. Sending our troops to enforce a federal political agenda beyond Ohio's borders undermines our commitment to Ohioans and misuses the responsibility entrusted to us,” said Rep. Synenberg.

“This is a clear exploitation of the Ohio National Guard, using service members as political pawns and placing them in unnecessary danger. We urge the Governor to take responsible action and recall these troops without delay,” said Rep. Rader.

House Democrats believe Ohioans deserve leaders and a government that puts people first, invests in our communities and keeps our people safe.
