COLUMBUS - State Representative Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) today sent a letter to Conn Selmer officials in Eastlake, Ohio and Elkhart, Indiana asking them to reconsider plans to close their brass instrument manufacturing plant in Eastlake. The closure, scheduled for June 2026, would result in the loss of 150 union jobs in the area.

“The closure raises serious concerns about the welfare of these workers, their families, and the broader Lake County Community,” said Rep. Troy.

Rep. Troy requests that Conn Selmer officials continue good-faith negotiations with the United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) to find a path forward that benefits both the company and Eastlake’s workers.
