State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) introduced House Bill 692, which will modernize and update how estate planning documents, such as wills and trusts, are finalized within the state. Swearingen testified on the legislation during its hearing in the House Civil Justice Committee.

State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) voted to support House Bill 13 - one of the Ohio House’s priority pieces of legislation - that will help to expand broadband to the nearly one million Ohioans lacking a reliable internet connection, including 300,000 households having no broadband options. The significant legislation passed in the Ohio House earlier today.

As joint sponsors, State Representatives Jeff LaRe (R-Violet Township) and D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) today voted to support their bill that will bring revenue and safety to businesses. The legislation passed in the Ohio House with a vote of 84-8.

Today, Speaker Householder appointed state Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) to the Ohio House 2020 Economic Recovery Task Force, a bipartisan panel tasked with studying how to help Ohio’s economy recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Swearingen indicated his interest at getting to work on the panel in an effort to find solutions for his district.

State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) voted in favor of House Bill 197, which addressed many issue-areas affected during the coronavirus outbreak. The measure passed out of both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly. Swearingen spoke on the House floor regarding provisions on Ohio’s primary election.
