COLUMBUS — State Rep. Cecil Thomas (D-Cincinnati) today celebrated the approval of a $340k grant awarded to Healthcare Access Now by the Ohio Commission on Minority Health.

“Working on House Bill 4 - designating Ohio Stillbirth Prevention Day, now signed into law - gave me the opportunity to learn more about not only stillbirth prevention, but also infant mortality and the challenges families face,” said Rep. Thomas. “Many of my constituents have shared feelings of hopelessness and uncertainty due to a lack of support, resources, and prevention education. I am honored to see these resources invested in our district to ensure families receive the support they need during some of their most difficult moments.”

The funding was approved through the Certified Pathways Community HUB Expansion/Infant Mortality Grant program and will support efforts to reduce infant mortality and improve maternal health outcomes in District 25.
