Holmes Applauds House Passage of House Bill 291

COLUMBUS – Representative Adam Holmes (R-Nashport) applauded the passage of House Bill 291, which was unanimously approved by the House of Representatives on Thursday. “Two bills we introduced earlier this year- to designate the SFC Ron Rosser Medal of Honor Recipient Memorial Highway and create the Ohio Aerospace Institute License plate, were included in this bill,” Holmes said “It so exciting to see these initiatives move forward.”

John Glenn Statue Sculpted by Constituent of House District 97 to Be Displayed at Statehouse

COLUMBUS – The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB) approved the temporary display of a John Glenn statue crafted by Zanesville artist Alan Cottrill on Thursday. Speaking to the Board prior to the vote, Representative Holmes shared the personal connection he had with the legendary astronaut. John Glenn was born in Cambridge, which Holmes currently represents, and both Glenn and Rep. Holmes served as pilots in the Marine Corps. “I tell people frequently that I would never assume to be like John Glenn,” Holmes said, “but I certainly understand where he came from. I certainly understand where his value system, his work ethic and his patriotism came from.” Representative Holmes believes countless Ohioans share his admiration for Glenn’s legacy.
