COLUMBUS — State Reps. Erika White (D-Springfield Township) and Ashley Bryant-Bailey (D-Cincinnati) recently introduced legislation to provide publicly funded childcare benefits to childcare employees who work at least 20 hours per week. House Bill (HB) 768 allows county Jobs and Family Services offices to exclude family income when determining eligibility for publicly funded childcare. 

COLUMBUS — State Reps. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) and Tristan Rader (D-Lakewood) yesterday introduced a bill to protect Ohio’s drinking water by providing state-level standards for drinking water that limit contaminant levels for common toxic chemicals such as PFAS, chromium-6, 1,4 dioxane, and others as the need arises. 

State Rep. Tom Patton (R-Strongsville) spearheaded a resolution on Tuesday that was approved by the Ohio House of Representatives to name Ohio as the headquarters for the U.S. Space Command. Patton spoke to the resolution on the House floor.

COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives yesterday passed the Protect Ohio Workers Act, announced bill sponsor, State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron).

On Tuesday, legislation introduced by State Rep. Melanie Miller (R-City of Ashland) and State Rep. Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) has been unanimously approved by the House Commerce and Labor Committee. The legislation modernizes the statutes authorizing the Cosmetology and Barber Board and updates statutes to harmonize the regulations and processes of the board to better serve licensees.

COLUMBUS – Members of the Cuyahoga County delegation today sent a letter to Cleveland Clinic leadership, requesting additional information and transparency regarding the health system’s proposal to establish a new Level I adult and pediatric trauma center at its main campus in Cleveland.

State Rep. Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) announces that House Bill 122 passed today within the Ohio House of Representatives. The legislation increases legal protections for Guardian ad Litems (GALs) and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) involved in representing children. Pavliga is a joint sponsor of the bipartisan bill as she spoke to it on the House floor.
