COLUMBUS — Summit County State Reps. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson), Veronica Sims (D-Akron), Cuyahoga Falls City Schools Board of Education Member AJ Harris, and Summit County Councilwoman Liz Walters Wednesday at a press conference addressed the need for the state to take action and reduce skyrocketing property taxes in Summit County and across Ohio.

Rep. Sims Announces $620K Investment for Safe Routes to School Program

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Veronica Sims (D-Akron) today announced Summit County is one of 19 counties in the state of Ohio to receive federal funds to support projects focusing on the safety of children who walk or bike to school. The Ohio Department of Transportation is awarding the funding as part of its Safe Routes to School program, which supports education initiatives and builds infrastructure such as sidewalks and enhanced pedestrian crossings. This year, the program is funding 29 projects in 19 counties.

Rep. Sims Announces Passage of Final State Capital Budget, Securing Transformative Community Investments in Summit County

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Veronica Sims (D-Akron) today announced the passage of House Bill (HB) 2, the state's biennial state capital budget, in both the Ohio House of Representatives & Senate. The record-setting $6.2B investment makes appropriations for state-owned infrastructure, colleges, universities, and school districts as well as other community projects.
