COLUMBUS — State Rep. Tristan Rader (D-Lakewood) today celebrates direct investments to community partners through the passage of the State Capital Budget.

The State Capital Budget is passed during the even number year of the General Assembly and funds projects related to building maintenance and construction and facilities. The Capital Budget makes appropriations for the biennium ending in June of 2028, including funds for key priorities for Northeast Ohio.

“Investments in projects like the connecting Cudell Park and Rapid station to Edgewater Park with a separated biking and walking path, and funding to expand the Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity reflect our values and priorities as a delegation,” said Rep. Rader. “Support for things like bike-ability, walkability, housing, and accessibility improvements at regional hubs are just some of the things we advocated for and saw in the final budget.”

The State Capital Budget has a small amount of funds allocated to non-profits, regional institutions, and local governments.

“I’m pleased to announce the City of Lakewood will be receiving $400,000 for improving the pool at Madison Park. When I was on Lakewood City Council, we worked hard to make sure all parks and pools were prioritized,” Rep. Rader continued. “Lakewood has some of the best public spaces and amenities enjoyed by the whole region. I’m happy to still be a part of maintaining and growing Lakewood.”
