COLUMBUS – State Reps. Sean Patrick Brennan (D-Parma) and Tex Fischer (R-Boardman) have introduced House Bill (HB) 265 - bipartisan legislation to close a dangerous loophole in Ohio law by regulating submetering companies—unregulated entities that resell electricity, water, and gas to tenants in multi-unit housing.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Sean Patrick Brennan (D-Parma) and D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) today introduced House Bill (HB) 312 – a bill to make the walleye the official fish of the state of Ohio. The sponsors previously introduced the bill in the 135th General Assembly, which passed the House floor by a vote of 94-4. However, the bill did not pass the Ohio Senate before the end of the general assembly.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Sean Patrick Brennan (D-Parma) and Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) on Tuesday provided sponsor testimony on House Bill 318 – a bill that would revise Medicaid estate recovery program law and bring much-needed balance and fairness to the Medicaid Estate Recovery process here in Ohio.  The sponsors were inspired to collaborate on this idea after Rep. Brennan’s advocacy for stronger notification requirements to those applying for Medicaid and are at risk of being subject to their assets or estates being recovered for the cost of services provided.

Brewer (D-Cleveland) and Sean Patrick Brennan (D-Parma) today called on their House and Senate colleagues to fulfill Ohio’s constitutional mandate and fully fund public schools. The failure of school levies in Garfield Heights and Parma demonstrate the need for the fair school funding formula. By scrapping this funding plan, the Ohio House has pitted homeowners against school children, forcing voters to choose between public education and property taxes.
