COLUMBUS – State Representative Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) announced the Ohio Controlling Board released more than $630,000 Monday in state funding earmarked for infrastructure improvements to the Heartland Behavioral Healthcare facility. 

Mental health is rising to the forefront in Ohio. After persistent battles with statewide drug addiction, rippling consequences from the Covid-19 pandemic and a lack of mental health workforce, state leaders are prioritizing the issue with an $85 million investment. 

COLUMBUS - Recently, the second round of Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program grants were released by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor John Husted. State Representative Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) announced that Stark County is once again included. The county is set to receive $1,298,584 for the Weber Dental Remediation and Demolition project.

COLUMBUS - The Ohio House of Representatives had its last voting session before summer break, announced State Representative Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton). 

COLUMBUS - Ohio is helping families to their feet by temporarily waiving the copays for publicly funded childcare. The Department of Jobs and Family Services is putting up $50 million to fund the initiative. 

COLUMBUS -The Ohio House of Representatives has approved the state’s two-year construction budget, a $3.5 billion plan that funds a variety of educational, recreational and public safety needs throughout the state.

COLUMBUS - Wednesday, May 18, the Ohio House of Representatives approved House Bill 377 to allocate the second phase of American Rescue Plan funding to Ohio’s non-entitlement units of local government.  

Columbus - Recently, the Ohio Wildlife Council announced the 2022-23 dates for the state’s various hunting seasons. 

COLUMBUS - For over a decade now, Ohio has been in search of a solution to the deadly drug use that has run rampant since the early 2000s. While offices across state government have implemented different solutions, the Ohio Attorney General’s Office is taking a proactive approach in regard to Ohio’s young students. The office recently announced $2.66 million in grant funding for local law enforcement agencies to provide drug use prevention programming to schools during the 2022-23 academic year.
