Representative Oelslager Supports Stark State College Funding

Earlier this week, State Rep. Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) and the Ohio State Controlling Board approved funding for Stark State College. The allocation includes $124,925 for the Akron Center for Education and Workforce.

Oelslager serves as a member of the Ohio State Controlling Board.

“I’m pleased that we have approved another Stark State College measure, especially one that pertains to the issue of workforce,” said Oelslager. “Our state must continue its focus on expanding our workforce – it’s definitely an issue we must keep prioritizing to create and retain jobs in our state.”

The project approval relocates a welding center to a larger facility in order to accommodate necessary equipment space.

The next State Controlling Board meeting is scheduled for Aug. 16.
