COLUMBUS — State Representative Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) showed his support for several pieces of legislation that extends recognition to several groups of people around the state of Ohio.

“We have a large variety of people that make up our great State and they have all contributed to making Ohio what it is today,” said Oelslager. “I wanted to show my support to business owners by easing some of their constraints, while also honoring those that have served our nation.”

Oelslager voted ‘yes’ on the following pieces of legislation:

·         Senate Bill 105, will require political subdivisions to recognize state certification of minority business enterprises, women-owned business enterprises and veteran-friendly business enterprises as proof of eligibility for local programs and initiatives.

·         House Concurrent Resolution 27, would honor and recognize victims of Agent Orange during the Vietnam War.

·         House Bill 449, would recognize the second Monday in October as Italian Heritage Day.

Senate Bill 105 will now head to the governor’s office for his approval, while House Bill 449 and House Concurrent Resolution 27 will head to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.

The House is scheduled to return to session Feb. 9, 2022
