COLUMBUS — The Ohio State Controlling Board and State Representative Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) announced the release of more than $1 million for a pair of Stark State College of Technology projects Monday.

The roofs of the Science Wing and the Fuel Cell Prototyping Center have both deteriorated beyond their normal operating life and are in need of replacement. The Science Wing roof replacement will cost $481,105 and the Fuel Cell Prototyping Center roof will cost $546,480.

“I’m glad we could provide the funds needed to continue to make Stark State a premier higher education institution in northeast Ohio,” said Oelslager.

The Science Wing roof is 37,000 square feet and will be completed by Heartland Construction. The Fuel Cell Prototyping Center roof is 30,000 square feet and will be completed by Boak and Sons Inc.

The next controlling board meeting is scheduled for Nov. 22
