COLUMBUS – State Representative Sarah Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula) announced her support of House Bill 254 that passed out of the Ohio House Wednesday, legislation that would both improve the response time to domestic violence cases and work to prevent domestic violence fatalities.

This legislation will create an avenue for regions and counties to establish review boards for domestic violence fatalities throughout the state. These boards will be tailored to fit the needs of each county they reside in.

“I applaud the Ohio house for overwhelmingly supporting House Bill 254, a necessary piece of legislation that will work to provide much-needed aid to the domestic violence problem in Ohio,” said Fowler Arthur.

The domestic violence fatality review boards will play a large role in helping our counties fight and prevent domestic violence fatalities.

House Bill 254 passed the Ohio House Wednesday by a vote of 91-1 and will now head to the Ohio Senate.
