COLUMBUS - State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved $2M in funding for the second year of a three-year expansion of the Queens Village and Cradle Cincinnati model, programs designed to combat infant mortality and support mothers and families across Ohio.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced Youngstown will receive $293,395 in grants from the Ohio Arts Council (OAC) and the State Operating Budget (HB 96).  The OAC Board approved over $23 million in grants to support artists, nonprofits, arts organizations, culture organizations, students, educators, and public arts programing. Youngstown received grants from three categories: ArtSTART, sustainability, and TeachArtsOhio. ArtSTART grants help organizations complete short term projects.  The majority were sustainability grants that help support the operation of arts and culture activities. TeachArtsOhio grants connects schools with teaching artists to create personal and high-quality arts learning experiences. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board has approved $11,075,744.85 for the Ohio State Penitentiary for updates to their HVAC system. There are approximately 475 HVAC dampers throughout the facility. The project will also upgrade damaged or deteriorating HVAC system equipment, replace actuators and components to the Johnson Controls System, and replace and install of approximately 80 fire alarm heads and bases. This project will be administered by the Ohio Faciliities Construction Commission (OFCC). 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that The John J. McDonough Museum of Art has been awarded $12,640 from the Ohio Arts Council (OAC) as part of a sustainability grant. The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally, and economically and tries to be a leader and voice for the arts to transform people and communities.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced the Ohio Controlling Board approved $92,000 in funding for Youngstown State University to install new security cameras across campus. The upgrades will enhance safety measures and improve monitoring capabilities for students, faculty, and visitors.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced District 58 and Mahoning County will receive $5,321,666 from HB 96, the state operating budget.  

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that Poland Township in Mahoning County has been awarded $935K from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) through the state’s Highway Safety Improvement Program.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that 10 projects across District 58 and Mahoning County have been awarded a combined total of $5,367,965 in grant and loan funding through the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC). 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today shows her support for those who voted “NO” on the vote to override a school district property tax levy restriction provision vetoed in House Bill 96 (the state operating budget). Line-item 66 would eliminate several types of levies, limiting the choices voters have in how to support their schools and local governments, and would not provide real property tax relief to Ohioans. Real property tax relief is one of the most pressing needs for everyday Ohioans. House Democrats are ready and willing to work together to get that done.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today shared her opposition to the Ohio House Republican Majority calling a session of the Ohio House of Representatives on Monday, July 21st to override several of the school and local funding-related property tax provisions that were recently vetoed by Governor Mike DeWine in House Bill (HB) 96, the biennial state operating budget. The items up for consideration, items 55, 65, and 66 of Amended Substitute House Bill 96, pertain to controversial property tax changes.
