COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that Youngstown has been chosen as the site for the state’s 4th and final Innovation Hub. Governor DeWine, Lt. Governor Tressel and Director of Development Lydia Mihalik made the announcement at an event in downtown Youngstown. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today helped pass the bipartisan Ohio Transportation Budget (House Bill 54) through the Ohio House of Representatives. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today joined the Ohio House Democratic Caucus in sending a letter to Governor Mike DeWine and Attorney General Dave Yost urging them to not appeal Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Holbrook’s ruling that the governor violated a statue in 2021 when he refused to accept $900M in federal unemployment during the pandemic. The ruling, if not appealed by the attorney general and if the funds are distributed by the governor, means 300K Ohio families will be eligible for meaningful financial support.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) and Munira Abdullahi (D-Columbus) today introduced House Bill (HB) 63, the Safe Stops Act: Preventing Human Trafficking on Our Roads. This legislation would require the maintenance of security cameras at rest areas which the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has jurisdiction.

Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announces $58,700 from the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) Body Worn Camera Grant awarded to Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office and Youngstown State University Police Department. The grant program provides appropriations for local police departments adhering to Ohio Collaborative’s body-worn camera standard. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced her assignment to the Ohio Commission on Infant Mortality for the 136th General Assembly. The Ohio Commission on Infant Mortality (ORC 3701.68) was created in 2014 with the goal of improving Ohio's infant mortality rate. Commission members are pulled together from the state legislature, directors, and designees from various executive agencies, and representatives from Ohio’s healthcare sector and community-based programs. The commission is charged with advising the governor on how to best allocate state funding and services to addressing infant mortality, which is defined as the death of a live-born baby before his or her first birthday.
