Representative Ritter Announces Funding for Local Transportation Infrastructure Project

COLUMBUS – State Representative Kevin Ritter (R-Marietta) is pleased to announce that Meigs County was recently awarded $44,953 from the Transportation Improvement District Program to support a local transportation infrastructure project, supporting economic development in the 94th House District.
The funding will be used to replace an existing single-span truss bridge in Rutland Township with a new single-span prestressed I-beam bridge supported by new abutments. The project will improve transportation infrastructure by opening access to approximately 50 acres of land, allowing for unrestricted legal-load transportation and serving as a connector between two state routes.
“Bridges and roadways are especially important in our region of the state,” said Ritter. “I am glad to see this investment in upgrading and expanding our transportation system.”
