Ohio State Rep. Justin Pizzulli has recently announced that Sciotoville Community School District will be receiving a grant of $368,550. The grant is a part of the Safe Routes to School Program, which aims to enhance safety for students during their daily commute to and from school. This program is designed to provide children with the necessary resources to promote a healthy lifestyle while ensuring their safety.

Expressing his delight with the funding, Pizzulli highlighted the significance of not only keeping children safe but also offering them the means to thrive and lead a healthy life. He is confident that the grant will greatly contribute to achieving these objectives for the students in his district.

The funds will be utilized for specific infrastructure improvements, including the installation of school speed zone signs and the construction of high visibility crosswalks with curb ramps. These enhancements are expected to significantly boost the safety of students who walk or bike to school.

The Safe Routes to School Program has already awarded over $9.8 million to schools across 25 counties in Ohio, exemplifying its commitment to enhancing student safety and promoting healthier lifestyles statewide. The grant for Sciotoville Community School District is a part of this broader initiative to foster safer and healthier communities for Ohio’s young learners.
