Rep. Juanita O. Brent recognizes Yom HaShoah

COLUMBUS – Rep. Juanita O. Brent (D-Cleveland) today released the following statement regarding Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. Yom HaShoah is the day of commemoration for the Holocaust by the Jewish community. Yom HaShoah differs from International Holocaust Remembrance Day, as this is the commemoration of the victims from the perspective of the Jewish community. 

“It is vital that we never forget the 6 million Jews and 5 million others who lost their lives during the Holocaust,” said Rep. Brent. “To prevent this devastating piece of history from happening again, the world must continue to acknowledge and learn about the Holocaust and its impact throughout history and today.” 

This year marks 80 years since the Holocaust began.
