Rep. Brent celebrates National Agriculture Day and calls for action on HB 95

COLUMBUS- State Rep. Juanita Brent (D-Cleveland) today celebrates National Agriculture Day and encourages support for House Bill (HB) 95, to allow income tax credits for beginning farmers and related business, which she co-sponsored. 

“Only 1.7% farms are Black-owned nationwide, and that number only shrinks when you look at Ohio,” said Rep. Brent. “The bill I co-sponsored, HB 95, needs to be signed into law to help ensure that there are pathways to increase access to land ownership and equipment.” 

HB 95 passed the Ohio House in June 2021 and now awaits further hearings in the Senate.
