Rep. Brent Celebrates Juneteenth

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Juanita O. Brent (D-Cleveland) today proudly commemorated Juneteenth by joining community leaders and residents at the annual Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony at the Ohio Statehouse.

The Flag raising ceremony, held on the West Lawn of the Statehouse, featured inspirational speeches and musical performances, symbolizing the enduring spirit and resilience of the Black community.

“Raising the Juneteenth flag over the Ohio Statehouse is a powerful symbol of recognition, but our celebration must always be paired with purpose,” said Rep. Brent. “I am honored to stand with our community today as we honor our ancestors, celebrate our progress, and recommit ourselves to the collective journey toward true equity for all."
