Rep. Joe Miller applauds passage of HB 581 in committee

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Joe Miller (D-Amherst) announced today that House Bill (HB) 581 has been favorably reported out of the Armed Forces and Veteran’s Affairs Committee. Rep. Miller joint-sponsored HB 581 with State Rep. Adam Holmes (R-Nashport) to allow county credit card charges for temporary and necessary assistance care provided by a county veterans service office. 

“I applaud the Armed Forces and Veteran’s Affairs Committee for passing HB 581 out of committee. Our bill provides an efficient and effective method for our county offices to assist veterans in a time of need,” said Rep. Miller.

HB 581 is a companion bill to SB 287 sponsored by Sen. Nathan Manning that was passed by the Ohio Senate. The bill will await its first hearing in the Ohio Senate.
