Rep. Thomas Votes to Override Veto, Spurring Property Tax Relief for Ohioans

Rep. Thomas Votes on Budget Plan that Delivers Historic Property Tax Relief for Ohioans, Implements Flat Tax

State Representative Jim Thomas (R-Jackson Township) today announced that the Ohio House of Representatives approved the conference committee report for Am. Sub. House Bill 96 –the State Operating Budget. The budget plan, which allocates funding for state programs and operations for the next two years, includes provisions that aim to protect freedom, family and fiscal responsibility – approving historic property tax relief for Ohioans, implementing a flat tax rate and providing a record amount of state funding for school districts.

Rep. Jim Thomas Votes to Deliver Billions in Historic Property Tax Relief for Ohioans

State Representative Jim Thomas (R-Jackson Township) voted in support of Am. Sub. House Bill 96 – the House’s version of the State Operating Budget. This forward-looking, fiscally responsible budget plan invests in Ohio families and the state’s future – approving over $4 billion in record property tax relief for Ohioans and ensuring that every school district in the state receives an increase in school funding in fiscal years 2026 and 2027.
