State Representative Jeff LaRe (R-Violet Twp.) is currently serving his first term as State Representative after being appointed during the 133rd General Assembly. He represents the 77th Ohio House District, which includes most of Fairfield County.
Rep. LaRe currently serves as the Chairman of the House Criminal Justice Committee. He is a member of the House Finance Committee, Finance Subcommittee on Transportation, Insurance Committee and Transportation and Public Safety Committee. He also participates in the Business First Caucus and the Ohio Legislative Sportmen's Caucus.
During the 133rd GA, Rep. LaRe served as Vice-Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee. Last GA he also saw four of his bills pass out of the Ohio House with one of them signed into law. Those bills included the permission to use electronic instant bingo devices, the administration of the Safe at Home Address Confidentiality Program and to enact the Business Expansion at Safety Act to allow bars, restaurants, breweries and wineries to have greater flexibility to bring in revenue during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Outside of the Ohio House of Representatives, he serves as the Executive Vice President of The Whitestone Group, where he has worked since 2000. Whitestone is a nationwide provider of asset protection and security services. Prior to his work at Whitestone, he was an Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) Certified Peace Officer and an OPOTA Certified Corrections Officer at the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office.
Representative LaRe is a husband and a father to three children and resides in Violet Township in Fairfield County. He is active in his community where he coaches his son’s lacrosse team. In his free time, he enjoys doing mud obstacle runs with his oldest daughter and competing in Cyclocross and Triathlete competitions.
