COLUMBUS – Yesterday the Ohio State Controlling Board approved $1.5 million in funding for disaster relief in Goshen Township to help recovery efforts from the July tornado.

The news is welcomed by State Representative Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland), who supported disaster relief funding during negotiations over the state operating budget, House Bill 110.

“After the devastating tornado in July, Goshen Township suffered severe economic loss,” Schmidt said. “This funding provides an excellent opportunity for the community to grow and restore both its economic growth and its beauty.”

The funds will be used to address damages to public buildings, debris removal operations, and emergency response measures.

The next Controlling Board meeting is scheduled for January 23, 2023.
