Schmidt Applauds Funding for Loveland Gas Station Cleanup
COLUMBUS – State Representative Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland) this week announced that funding for an Abandoned Gas Station Cleanup Grant for the City of Loveland was approved by the Ohio State Controlling Board.
“It is important to make efforts to revitalize our community here in Clermont County,” Schmidt said. “I am grateful to see this funding make its way to Loveland and help us continue to grow.”
Schmidt supported House Bill 597, the state capital budget, which is funding the Abandoned Gas Station Cleanup Grant. The revitalization of this property will include underground storage tank removal and closer, demolition, remedial action planning, and potential soil and ground water remediation.
The City of Loveland is set to receive $250,000 to complete this project.
The Ohio State Controlling Board is the financial legislative oversight for capital and operating expenditures by state agencies. The next Controlling Board meeting is scheduled for Feb. 6.
